Ample snowshoeing opportunities are available on the lands of Santanoni Preserve in Newcomb. Possible trips include: 2 miles RT to Farm Complex, or 10 miles RT to Great Camp Santanoni itself, as well as Moose Pond, Mount Adams, Goodnow Mountain, Henderson Lake, Duck Hole or Lake Colden and Avalanche Pass.
Paul Smiths College Visitor Interpretive Center (VIC) features about 9.5 miles of snowshoe trails for people of all abilities. There are several snowshoe trails on its 2,885 acre property, including a 8.2 mile round-trip up scenic Jenkins Mountain.
There is plenty of scenic, rolling terrain perfect for snowshoeing near Lake Champlain or Schroon Lake. Snowshoeing is also available in Inlet at the Fern Park recreational facility along with rentals and a warming hut.
For the more adventurous, the High Peaks trails can be accessed by snowshoes.
